James Patrick Updike (Co-Director) James has been acting since first grade and in Community theater for the past 18 years working with such groups as Beechmont Players, Village Players of Ft. Thomas, Stagecrafters, Cincinnati Children's Theater, The Denton Affair, Meri Pranxsters, and Milford Theater Guild. Over the years he has appeared in almost 30 different roles. A few favorites include: Dracula, in Dracula, The Musical?, Billy Boylan, in 40 Carats, Beverly Carlton & Banjo in two different productions of The Man Who Came To Dinner, and Peter Jones in The Butter and Egg Man. Most recently James has appeared onstage in the Beechmont Players Productions of Funny Money as Detective Slater, and in Anastasia as General Bounine.
James' first foray into directing was the Ohio Premier of Cannibal! The Musical which he co-directed with his wife Sarah. James has a desire to bring new and unique shows to the community theater world of Cincinnati.
James is also an aspiring writer. He won a Writer's Digest Award for their Short Story 2000 contest and his first published story appeared in the Fall 2001 issue of Pangaia Magazine. Other stories and novels of his have appeared in the online magazine, The Writer's Hood. James also worked for a time as the Fantasy Editor of The Writer's Hood. James also runs one of the largest Jim Steinman websites, Jim Steinman's Realm Of Dreams.
James lives in Mt. Washington with his wife Sarah and his son Paracelsus.
